Our customers, their aircraft…
Airline pilot, MCR pilot, and more!

Jean-Christophe Roy is one of our customers. This airline pilot has logged 13,000 flight hours on many different machines. In addition to Air France and Transavia airliners, he has piloted DR400s, Bonanzas, Cessna 152s, 172s and 182s, has flown CAP10s, owns a Cozy MK III, a Rans S-6 Coyote with classic landing gear (for mountain flying) and, of course, an MCR!
In fact, he’s owned no less than three MCRs: a VLA, an MCR ULC (which he modified as a glider towing plane), because he’s so passionate about these machines that, in March 2008, he created the famous MCR 01 Passion forum! Today, this online platform for exchange and advice between MCRs owners is more active than ever, and the man is still the administrator.

Jean-Christophe discovered the VLA in 1999. As the machine was designed by Michel Colomban, whose style he appreciated, he was so taken with it that he bought one in 2003. A handyman, the owner renovated it himself, notably adding an autopilot to the dashboard (one of the first on MCR at the time).

In 2010, as chief pilot instructor and vice-president of the Aéroclub Dassault Ile de France (ACDIF), he recommends the purchase an MCR-4S. The aircraft, registered F-PKRU (built in French Guiana and returned to Europe), is powered by a 100hp Rotax 912S. It will be operated for 8 years by the aeroclub’s members, mainly for travel. In 2018, when Jean-Christophe was no longer very involved with the ACDIF, he discovered that the club had put the F-PKRU up for sale at €65,000. Without hesitation, he bought the aircraft with one of his friends, Jean-Marc Jeulin.

From then on, in addition to a complete overhaul, the aircraft will be completely modernized. Safety features include an airframe parachute, our new flap system, and an incidence probe. The instrument panel is also upgraded with, among other things, a Dynon D10A EFIS, an Aera 660 GPS, a Garmin SL40 radio, a 3-axis autopilot and Flybox engine instruments. In terms of paint scheme, however, the aircraft remains a sober immaculate white, with a simple “Dassault” sticker on the tail fin.

Since 2018, Jean-Christophe has mainly flown his MCR-4S for traveling with his daughter and his son, a glider pilot, paraglider and future PPL pilot who inherited his passion for aviation.

The family has already been to Corsica, Sardinia, Croatia and Morocco, with destinations such as Fez and Ouarzazate, and have even flown as far as the gateway to the Western Sahara, over the dunes of Zagora.

Jean-Christophe is planning further modifications to make his travels more enjoyable. For example, he plans to install our new carbon seats, which are wraparound and feature headrests. A detail which, beyond comfort, is, for him, a question of safety. He also wants to invest in the latest-generation Dynon Skyview EFIS. Finally, from an aesthetic point of view, he wants to give the F-PKRU a beautiful new look, by adding elegant stylized edges to the fuselage (the color of which has yet to be determined).

Once so equipped, this aircraft will be ready to set off to beautiful destinations with safety, comfort and style. In short, Jean-Christophe Roy can look back on a truly complete MCR-4S Evolution. For the founder of the MCR 01 Passion forum, how could it be otherwise?

Enjoy your flights, Jean-Christophe… and see you soon on your forum!

When Jean-Christophe talks about… SE Aviation Aircraft

Beyond the performance and economy of my MCR-4S, what’s really important for me is to have professional support to answer my questions. When Éric Fumey decided to found SE Aviation Aircraft, I was one of his first customers, and I’ve always encouraged him. I did so because I knew he was THE right person to ensure the airworthiness of MCRs. And he’s gone even further, since he and his teams have made and continue to make these aircraft evolve in the right way! In short, thanks to SE Aviation Aircraft, MCRs now have a future. And it’s a bright one!

WHAT IS NEW AT SE AVIATION AIRCRAFT?

Some of our 2024 highlights…

2024… what a busy year for SE Aviation Aircraft! In addition to the many maintenance and retrofit projects we carried out for you, we were also very prolific.

Here’s a small, but not exhaustive, selection from the past year:

We delivered five MCR Evolution: three Pick-Ups, one MCR M (kit) and one MCR-4S (kit).

Four MCRs in our second-hand sales found new owners.

Work on the adaptation of the new 160 hp Rotax 916 to the MCR-4S is nearing completion. We will be able to provide you the plane with this powerplant in early 2025.

Approval of the E-PROPS Glorieuse propeller for Sportster, Club and MCR-4S Evolution models.

Total refurbishment of the MCR-4S Evolution F-PAMV, with which its owner intends to cross the Atlantic (more on this subject soon).

The DRIADE drone program is also progressing well. Major and very encouraging advances have been made in recent months. But for the time being, at SE Aviation Aircraft, secrecy is the order of the day. Patience is still required!

Finally, we’d like to point out that we’re still looking for a mechanic and an electrician to work with us. Please let your friends and family know if you think they might be a good match.
Eric, Sébastien, Lydie and the whole SE Aviation Aircraft team wish you a very happy holiday season!
